16 June 2022: New Zealand team is placed in the top 3 at the 8th International Mathematical Modelling Challenge
Congratulations New Zealand team from St Andrew's College in Christchurch for placing internationally as one of the three outstanding teams this year!
And congratulations our Kerri Spooner who is a New Zealand representative at this international challenge and an organiser of New Zealand teams. The official announcement is below.
Announcing the 2022 IM2C Results
We are pleased to announce the results of the eighth annual International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IM2C). There were 31 countries/regions invited to participate in the 2022 IM2C and after the national selection round, 58 teams competed in the international round of judging. All teams worked at their own schools during a 5 day period between March 2nd and May 7th, 2022. Each team was given a modeling problem and then constructed their solutions. This year’s problem Aboard! Boarding and Disembarking a Plane asked the teams to develop a model for the most time-effective plane boarding and disembarking methods. A complete results report, with designations for all participants, is available here (pdf).

We commend all the schools for their efforts. The judges were impressed with all the teams’ creativity and ingenuity in mathematical modeling and in their ability to explain their strategies and problem-solving techniques in clear terms. Each participant is a true winner. For additional contest information, contact IM2C at: info@immchallenge.org.
