11-12 April: International NASA Space Apps Challenge
For the third consecutive year AUT was the host in New Zealand of this 48 hour international hackathon. STEM-TEC was one of the sponsors along with the US Embassy, KiwiSpace Foundation and the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences of AUT. The team from AUT "Dowsr" were runners up. They developed a crowd sourcing app to monitor and map clean drinking water sources in Africa.
