11 March 2016: Dr Jesse Pirini joined the STEM-TEC Centre

Dr Jesse Pirini joined the STEM-TEC Centre on 11th March. Jesse is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the DCT Faculty. He conducts his research through the Multimodal Research Centre and is currently focusing on intersubjectivity, agency and knowledge communication. Jesse was awarded the Beeby Fellowship in 2015/2016 to write a research based practical guide for high school peer tutoring programmes, and this book will be released in 2016. Jesse has extensive experience training and supporting tutors in STEM subjects at high school level, and is working with a central North Island iwi group to support their students to develop the STEM skills to manage the resources in their region. Jesse is passionate about education, and practical applications of research to improve educational outcomes within communities.
