21-22 November 2018: Computer Science for High Schools (CS4HS) conference
The member of STEM-TEC Dr Mahsa Mohaghegh organised a very successful conference CS4HS for New Zealand high school teachers held at AUT. CS4HS is an event aimed at supporting digital technologies teachers with training in STEM subjects in New Zealand schools, and creative ways to present these in the classroom. The purpose of the conference is to upskill our valuable high school educators by presenting ideas to engage students with new technologies so students can be better equipped for the needs of twenty-first century learning. Two other members presented workshops at the conference: Dr Sarah Marshall (jointly with Heather Ricketts) on the topic “Hungry for Data” and Associate Professor Sergiy Klymchuk on the topic “Unlocking Creativity through Puzzles”.
