17 September 2014: An Official Launch of the Centre by the Minister Steven Joyce
An official launch of the Centre was held on 17 September. The Centre was formally opened by Hon Steven Joyce, Minister of Business, Innovation and Employment, Minister for Economic Development, Minister of Science and Innovation, Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, Associate Minister of Finance. About 80 people attended the event including our research collaborators, industry and corporate partners, representatives from the Auckland City Council and senior management team of AUT University. Maori TV filmed the event and broadcasted it in their news programme on that day. The next day Chinese TV (Would TV Group) interviewed Director of the STEM-TEC Centre Associate Professor Sergiy Klymchuk and broadcasted the news on their channel.
